Details:Полное название: Newcastle United Football Club
Official Website: nufc.co.uk Description:Newcastle United's origins date back to Ноябрь 1881 when a football club named Stanley were founded by members of the Stanley Cricket Club. They changed their name to East End in 1882 to avoid confusion with two other local clubs named Stanley. That same year he newly-renamed club merged with Rosewood FC. The club's early rivals were West End. When Newcastle West End disappeared in 1892, Newcastle East End changed its name to Newcastle United and moved into West End's old stadium - St. James' Park. After spending four years in the Northern League Newcastle United joined the Football League for the 1893-94 season. According to legend the Magpies nickname (and club colors) dates back to a pair of magpie birds who regularly nested in one of the old St James' Park stands. The club's emblem is modeled upon that of the city of Newcastle, and also includes the club's black and white colors at its center. To explain a couple of the other typical Newcastle nicknames - a Geordie is a resident of the general Newcastle area while the Toon nickname reflects the local pronunciation of town. St. James' Park:St. James' Park was originally a Newcastle public park, which gradually evolved into a formal stadium.
Previous stadiums: South Byker (1891-86), Chillingham Road (1886-92).
