Description:

Formed as North End Cricket & Rugby Club in 1863, they turned to football exclusively in 1880 when the current name of Preston North End was adopted. The club were initially based in Moor Park on the north end of Preston, thus the name. PNE were the debut winners of the Football League, and won the FA Cup that season to become the first-ever double winners. They also completed that league season unbeaten. The club's emblem features the lamb of St. Wilfred, the patron saint of the city of Preston. The Lilywhites nickname is a reference to the club's white jerseys.

Deepdale:

The stadium was initially part of Deepdale Park. They are the only one of the Football League's founder members to play at the same stadium for their entire existence.
